Optional programs

In addition to our regular program, 18 Dartmouth Lions offers optional programs that provide cadets with more opportunities to lead and work as part of a team while further developing specific skills often with a competitive element.

Participation in optional activities is not required for cadets to complete their training level, but instead are offered to augment our current training program. These events may be one-time events like trips or reoccurring opportunities such as teams or training activities.

Current optional activities

Our cadets excel in the optional training we offer and have received awards and recognition for their skill and determination. Here is a list of just some of the regular optional activities and events offered in the 18 Dartmouth Lions:

  • Drill Team
  • Marksmanship
  • Biathlon
  • Music
  • Fitness Club
  • Public Affairs Committee
  • Mess (Social) Committee

Details for these activities are announced during the announcements portion of our Weekly Parade Night and included in our weekly announcements email. Cadets are encouraged to ask a senior cadet or a member of our staff team if they have questions about these activities.
